The Magic of Teaching – Özel Ayşe Abla – 7th January 2012

The Henry Brothers and Döruk Ülgen took their ‘The Man with the the Power’ show to Ankara where they performed to an eager and enthusiastic crowd of teachers at the Özel Ayşe Abla Elt Conference. They drew parallels between the skills of a magician and those of a teacher by referring to magician, Döruk Ülgen’s ‘Ten Golden Rules of Magic’. Paul Henry drew the parallels whilst Döruk performed the tricks. We’ve listed the ten golden rules on an earlier blog posting.

Döruk wound up the performance with his reknowned floating table routine leaving the audience dumb struck and asking the question, ‘Just how did he do that?’

Magician
I am a magician
Give me the sun to eat
I am a magician
Give me the moon to suck

The waters of my mouth
will put out the fires of the sun
The waters of my mouth
will melt the light of the moon

Day becomes night
Night becomes day
I am a magician
Listen to what I say

(adapted from ‘Jo Jo’ by Michael Rosen)
